Keep posts and words out of every link with the never-link list
Some pages should never get a link, or never be linked to: a landing page, a legal page, a category of sponsored posts. Words can be off-limits too. The never-link list applies everywhere Silotree writes.
Steps
Open Silotree → Link rules and scroll to Never link
In WordPress open Silotree → Link rules (you need to be able to edit other people’s posts). The Never link card is at the bottom, with a count of entries or Empty.
Add posts, words, post types or categories
- Posts: IDs or addresses, one per line or separated by commas. These posts never get a link and are never linked to. The titles of the first few appear underneath so you can check them.
- Words: one per line. A link whose words contain one of these, as a whole word, is never made. Letter case does not matter. Useful for brand names, or words you never want underlined.
- Post types: tick a type, such as Pages, to leave all of it alone.
- Categories: tick a category to leave every post in it alone. Tags are not supported.
Press Save never-link list
Press Save never-link list.
What you should see
The screen says Never-link list saved. From now on Silotree will not suggest or write links from or to these, anywhere: the editor sidebar, the publish prompt, keyword rules, and links approved in the Silotree app. The list is also sent to Silotree whenever it checks your site, so the app stops suggesting those links.
If it doesn’t work
- A link to an excluded post is still in Links to add
Suggestions made before you saved can stay listed until Silotree next checks your site. They will not be written: the plugin refuses with That page is on your never-link list, so nothing links to it. Skip them.
- Links already in the post are still there
The list stops new links; it does not remove old ones. To take back links Silotree wrote, undo their batch — see write and undo batches.
- I can’t see Link rules
