What we read, and what we never do with it
Last updated 16 August 2026
- We read your public pages, and your Search Console data if you connect it — read-only, so we could not change anything there even by mistake.
- We never write to your posts. Links are applied when a page renders.
- We do not sell your data, share it between customers, or train models on your writing.
- Ask us to delete everything and we do, within thirty days. Your links stay — they live in your install.
Silotree analyses a website you own and tells you where its internal links are missing. To do that it needs to read your site and, if you connect it, your Search Console data. This page says exactly what that means.
What we read
- Your public pages. We fetch them the way any crawler does, honouring
robots.txtand your server’s rate limits, identifying ourselves asSilotreeBot. - Search Console, read-only. The queries your pages rank for, their impressions and average positions. We request the read-only scope and nothing else, so we could not change anything in your Search Console account even by mistake.
- Google Analytics, only if you connect it. Revenue or a conversion proxy per page, used to rank suggestions. Everything works without it.
What we store
- The link structure of your site, and the text of passages we propose linking from.
- Your Search Console query data for the period analysed.
- The decisions you make in the review queue, so the queue does not ask twice.
- Access tokens for the services you connect, encrypted at rest.
What we never do
- We never write to your posts. Accepted links are applied when a page renders. Your
post_contentis not modified. - We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use one customer’s content to build anything for another.
- We do not train models on your writing. Passages are sent to an embeddings provider to group your posts by subject, and that provider is contractually barred from training on them.
Google user data
Silotree’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Search Console data solely to produce the analysis you asked for, we do not transfer it to others except as necessary to provide the service, and we do not use it for advertising.
You can revoke our access at any time from your Google account permissions. Doing so stops any further analysis immediately.
Deleting your data
Ask and we delete everything we hold for your site within thirty days. The links you accepted stay on your site — they are yours, and they live in your own WordPress install.
