Use the free trial, and know what happens when it ends
A new account gets 14 days of Solo, Silotree Pro included, with no card. When the trial ends the site moves to the free plan on its own. Nothing is charged, and every link written during the trial stays in your posts.
During the trial the site has everything in Solo:
- Links you approve are written into WordPress from Silotree, with no limit.
- Every post is read again every week, up to Solo’s page limit.
- Silotree Pro: keyword rules, bulk links and links that follow a moved post, inside WordPress.
Client reports and briefs for missing posts are on Studio and Agency, so they are not part of the trial. See plans and limits for the full list.
Steps
Connect the WordPress plugin to start the trial
The 14 days count from the day you create your account. Your site joins the trial when you connect the free WordPress plugin to Silotree, see connect WordPress. Until then it is on Free.
Each site has one trial in its life, whichever account starts it.
Check the days left in Settings → Plan & billing
In Silotree, open Settings and scroll to Plan & billing. Your plan reads Solo trial, with how many days are left and the date it ends. Links written says Unlimited during the trial, and they stay, and the Silotree Pro card says Included in your trial, with the download button.
Choose a plan to keep Solo, or let the trial end
To keep Solo, or move to a bigger plan, choose one in the plan picker below and pay through Creem, see upgrade or change your plan. The paid plan replaces the trial straight away.
Or do nothing. Within an hour of the trial’s end, the site moves to Free on its own, and you get one email to say so. No card was taken, so nothing is charged.
What you should see
When the trial ends and you have not chosen a plan:
- Your links stay. Every link written during the trial stays in your posts as an ordinary link, and every batch can still be undone, from Silotree or from WordPress.
- Writing drops to Free. The free plan writes 3 links from Silotree in all, and links written during the trial count towards them. Approving stays free; approved links wait until you choose a plan.
- Silotree Pro stops. Keyword rules, bulk links and links that follow a moved post stop running. Your rules are kept, and undo keeps working in the free plugin.
- Everything else stays. The full audit, every finding, the weekly email and the free plugin with its reports, editor links and undo.
If it doesn’t work
- Settings says Free, not Solo trial
The site joins the trial when the plugin connects, and only while your account’s 14 days are running. A site that has had a trial before, on any account, does not get a second one. Connect the plugin, or check Settings → Connections if you already did.
- I chose a plan, but Settings still says trial
Payment confirmation from Creem can take a minute. Refresh Settings; if it still hasn’t switched, see upgrade or change your plan.
The trial has no subscription behind it, so there is nothing to cancel and no card to remove. Unless you choose a plan, it simply ends on its date.
Questions
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The trial starts without a card and never turns into a payment by itself. You only pay if you choose a plan.
When do the days start?
On the day you create your account. The site joins the trial when you connect the WordPress plugin, and the trial ends 14 days after sign-up either way.
Can I have a second trial?
No. Each site has one trial, whichever account starts it. Disconnecting and connecting the same site again during your own trial picks it up where it was.
Does the trial include client reports and briefs?
No. The trial is Solo. Client reports and briefs for missing posts are on Studio and Agency.
What happens to links written during the trial?
They stay in your posts as ordinary links, and every batch can still be undone. They count towards the free plan’s 3 free links, so after the trial, writing from Silotree waits for a paid plan once that many are written. Approving stays free.
