One difference matters more than the rest of the table.
How Linkbot works
Linkbot is a SaaS: a JavaScript file loaded on every page reads it and injects contextually relevant links in the visitor’s browser1. In its own words, it does not modify your content2. AI pulls three to ten keywords from each page and matches them across the site, and you can import your own keyword-to-URL pairs, which take priority3,4. You can approve or reject each suggestion3. On paid plans, its Priority Indexer finds sitemap URLs Google has not indexed and links to up to 30 a week from pages with traffic5.
How Silotree works
Silotree writes the links you approve into the post itself, as ordinary HTML links around words you already wrote. It is built only for WordPress: it finds the posts nothing links to, ranks suggestions by the clicks each should earn, and lets you undo any batch from Silotree or from WordPress.

Silotree is the better fit if…
- you want links that stay in your posts if you cancel or remove the plugin
- your site is not in English — Linkbot works only with English-language sites6
- you want broken links fixed and a full report you can export
- your site is over 1,000 URLs and you do not want to jump plans for it

|---|---|---|
| 1 site | $190 a year, or $19 a monthSolo (up to 1 site) | |

Linkbot bills monthly ($19, $49, $199) or yearly with two months free, and has no per-link credits3. Annual plans can be refunded within 30 days of the first charge; monthly fees cannot7. Its help centre still lists older plans and a 30-day trial8; we used the prices on its home page. For one site the price is the same; for five small sites Linkbot is cheaper; for 25, Silotree is.
Silotree’s figures are list prices in US dollars with no credits or per-link charges; the free plan audits any site and writes your first 10 links. Every plan, limit and the money-back guarantee is on the Silotree pricing page.
If any of these describe you, we would rather say so than take your money.
Your sites are on several platforms
Linkbot works anywhere you can add its snippet6. Silotree writes into WordPress and nothing else.
You want index coverage handled for you
Linkbot’s Priority Indexer compares your sitemap with Google’s index and links to the missing pages5. Silotree reports orphans and ranks by clicks but has no index-gap feature.
You manage several small sites
Linkbot Pro covers five sites of up to 1,000 URLs each for $190 a year3. Silotree’s entry plan is one site at the same price.
What happens to your links, step by step.
Linkbot’s links are added by its script on each page load and are not in your posts1,2, so they go when you remove it. Plan the switch so your pages are not left without links in between.
- Note your imported keyword–URL pairs before you leave: Linkbot does not export its report2, so copy the list you uploaded, or the pages that matter most.
- Remove the Linkbot snippet or plugin, then run Silotree’s free audit. It shows your site as it really is without injected links.
- Turn the keyword pairs you still want into Silotree link rules, preview them and apply them in batches of up to 25 posts.
- Work through Silotree’s ranked suggestions for the rest, and write them in one batch. From then on, links live in your posts.
Before you decide
Is Silotree a Linkbot alternative?
For WordPress sites, yes. Both suggest contextual internal links and let you review them. Silotree writes them into your posts as plain HTML, so they are visible to every crawler on the first visit and stay if you stop paying. Linkbot is the better fit if your sites are spread across several platforms.
What happens to JavaScript-injected links if I uninstall?
A link added by a script is only there while the script runs. Linkbot says it does not modify your content2, so its links go when the script does. Links Silotree writes are part of the post and keep working without it.
Can Silotree’s changes be undone?
Every change is one phrase already in your sentence, wrapped in a link. A revision is saved before each edit, the post is read back to confirm the link landed, and any batch can be reversed from inside WordPress.
LinkStorm also places links with a script — see how Silotree compares with LinkStorm. If you are leaving a script-based tool, the orphan pages guide shows how to see what it was hiding, and the LinkBoss alternatives list prices Linkbot next to seven others.
