# Silotree > Internal linking for WordPress sites: more readers from posts you already wrote. Silotree finds your unlinked posts (the ones no other post links to), suggests links from posts you already wrote (wrapping words already in the sentence), and you apply the ones you approve in WordPress. One-click apply from the app is optional and uses an Application Password for your own account. Every applied batch can be undone. Silotree is a web app and a WordPress plugin. It suits any WordPress site with a few dozen posts or more: blogs, recipe and travel sites, review and affiliate sites, directories, software help centres and local businesses. Key facts: - Free internal link audit with no account and no email: every unlinked post, dead ends, broken internal links, links through redirects and click depth. It only counts links inside your writing, not menus, footers or sidebars. It never edits your site. - The audit leads with the Silotree Score: the site's link structure from 0 to 100, in four parts (Linked 40, Working links 20, Reachable 20, Organised 20). It is arithmetic over the crawl's counts, with no AI judging it, and the formula is published at https://silotree.io/docs/silotree-score. It is Silotree's own model of linking habits: the weights are Silotree's choices, and Google has no such score. It is not an SEO score: it leaves out speed, titles, backlinks and link text. Sites with fewer than 5 posts get no score. Paid plans re-measure it every week. - The internal linking habits check at https://silotree.io/tools/internal-linking-quiz is a separate self-assessment; its habits score comes from the answers, not a crawl, and is not the Silotree Score. - New accounts get 14 days of Solo, Silotree Pro included, with no card. The days start when you connect the WordPress plugin, not at sign-up, and each site can have one trial. After that the site moves to Free, and every link written stays. Sign up with Google, or with an email and a password. - On Free, your first 3 suggestions are included, and you apply them in WordPress or from the app with your own Application Password. Paid plans: Solo $12/month (1 site), Studio $35/month (5 sites), Agency $59/month (25 sites). Yearly: Solo $119/year, Studio $349/year, Agency $590/year, about two months free. 30-day money-back guarantee. No credits on any plan. Studio adds a client report for each site, as a PDF or a read-only link; Agency puts the agency's own name, logo and colour on those reports, with no Silotree branding. - The WordPress plugin is free (downloaded from silotree.io; not yet on WordPress.org): the scan, unlinked-post and broken-link reports, CSV export, link suggestions in the editor added one at a time, and undo. Every paid plan also includes Silotree Pro, a separate add-on plugin downloaded from the app (not on WordPress.org), which adds keyword rules (applied by hand, or to new posts on publish if a rule is switched on) with Yoast and Rank Math focus-keyword import, bulk links to unlinked posts or to any chosen post (from the posts that already say its words, or that mention a phrase), links that follow a moved post, broken links fixed in batches, existing links removed or repointed in bulk with a trashed post's links taken out in one batch, and a URL changer that points every link to one address at another (wildcard folders, external and affiliate links), all inside wp-admin. The free plugin can also count clicks on internal links, cookieless and off by default, and mark external and new-tab links for screen readers. Each post can have target keywords, the words it is about, set in the editor or taken from Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO focus keywords, with Search Console queries added in one click once the site is connected; suggestions on them are marked. Category and tag pages with a written introduction can be linked to, and links can be written into their descriptions. - Suggestions are matched by meaning, on up to 500 pages in the free audit and across every post on a paid plan, and ranked by the clicks each should earn, from the site's own Search Console data when connected. - The app is laid out by job: This week (the few things worth doing now), Links (links to add, links to fix, links written), Topics (groups of posts and posts that compete), Structure (every post, the site map, sections, link wording and outbound links) and Results, with plan, plugin, emails and account details on the account menu. - The weekly email lists the few new links to add. With the plugin connected, you can approve them from the email. You apply them in WordPress, or from the app if one-click apply is on. - With Search Console connected, Silotree asks Google which posts it has indexed (URL Inspection), and links to posts Google has not added yet move up, under the filter Not in Google yet. Whether Google then adds a post is Google's decision. - Links are written only after approval (or auto-approval of strong matches, if switched on). A WordPress revision is saved first, the post is read back to confirm the link landed, and any batch can be undone in one click. Links stay if you cancel. - Broken and redirected links are fixed in one click, as one batch you can undo. - Silotree has an MCP server at https://silotree.io/api/mcp, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients can use it after the account owner signs in (OAuth) and chooses read-only or read-and-write and which sites. An assistant can read the Score, links to add with their sentences, link problems and any post, and check a draft for links to and from existing posts. Writing is two steps: it previews a batch and can only write that exact batch, for ten minutes, after the person says yes; every batch is labelled with the assistant and can be undone. It works on every plan, with the same write limits as the app. The same answers are at a REST API (https://silotree.io/api/v1, with API keys) with signed webhooks. On WordPress 6.9 and later the free plugin also offers read-only abilities to the WordPress MCP Adapter, with no account. - Link wording is tuned for English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Czech, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian and Indonesian; the audit works on a site in any language. - Page builders: it writes into the text modules of Elementor, Divi 4 and 5, Beaver Builder, Bricks and Thrive Architect, and into ACF WYSIWYG fields, never into headings, buttons or other modules; each write is read back and can be undone. - Limits: it writes into WordPress only, and it reads but does not write into posts built with Oxygen, WPBakery or Avada. It never writes new sentences to hold a link. ## Product - [Home](https://silotree.io/): what Silotree does and how it works - [Free internal link audit](https://silotree.io/free-link-checker): the Silotree Score and every finding behind it, no account - [How the Silotree Score works](https://silotree.io/docs/silotree-score): the four parts, weights, formula and version history - [Pricing](https://silotree.io/pricing): plans, limits and the money-back guarantee - [Silotree in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor](https://silotree.io/mcp): the MCP server, what an assistant can do, and how to connect it - [Changelog and roadmap](https://silotree.io/changelog): every release, with dates ## Research - [The state of internal linking 2026](https://silotree.io/research/internal-linking-2026): Silotree's benchmark, 39 WordPress sites and 5,190 posts, scored with the Silotree Score; median score 52 (middle half 43–61.5); 56% of posts have no contextual link in from another post; whether better-linked posts get more search clicks: not yet: too little data to say. Both suggest internal links and write them into your posts; the differences are price, how many page builders each writes into, and whether the tool holds an opinion about the shape of your site. - [Silotree vs LinkBoss](https://silotree.io/vs/linkboss): The one comparison that turns on a single decision: whether a tool is allowed to add sentences to your published writing, and whether you want to pay per link. - [Silotree vs Internal Link Juicer](https://silotree.io/vs/internal-link-juicer): Automatic keyword linking against reviewed structural linking, two different answers to what an internal link is for, and to where it should live. - [Silotree vs Rank Math](https://silotree.io/vs/rank-math): Rank Math added AI Link Genius to PRO in March 2026, and it made Rank Math a real internal linking tool rather than a checkbox. The question is whether you want linking inside your SEO suite, or a tool that does nothing else. - [Silotree vs Yoast SEO](https://silotree.io/vs/yoast): Yoast helps with the post in front of you. The problem on a two-thousand-post blog is the nineteen hundred behind it. - [Silotree vs Screaming Frog](https://silotree.io/vs/screaming-frog): Not really competitors. One is the best crawler there is; the other is a tool for doing something about what a crawl found. - [Silotree vs LinkStorm](https://silotree.io/vs/linkstorm): A SaaS that works on any website against a tool built only for WordPress. The deciding question is where the links live once they are made, and what happens to them when you stop paying. - [Silotree vs Linkbot](https://silotree.io/vs/linkbot): Two products with similar price lists and opposite answers to one question: should an internal link live in your post, or in a script? - [Silotree vs Linkilo](https://silotree.io/vs/linkilo): A Swiss army knife against a single blade. Linkilo bundles linking with redirects, 404s and crawler logs at a low price; Silotree does internal links and asks you to keep other tools for the rest. - [Silotree vs InLinks](https://silotree.io/vs/inlinks): InLinks is a content-optimisation platform with internal linking as one part; Silotree is an internal linking tool with nothing else attached. - [Silotree vs AIOSEO](https://silotree.io/vs/aioseo): All in One SEO is a full SEO suite, and Link Assistant is its internal linking add-on. A good one for a suite, and worth knowing exactly where it stops. - [Link Whisper alternatives](https://silotree.io/alternatives/link-whisper): 8 options, with the trade-off of each - [LinkBoss alternatives](https://silotree.io/alternatives/linkboss): 8 options, with the trade-off of each ## Use cases - [For food bloggers](https://silotree.io/for/food-bloggers): Stop your recipes competing with each other. - [For travel bloggers](https://silotree.io/for/travel-bloggers): Your destinations have a clear shape. Your guides cut across it. - [For directory and location sites](https://silotree.io/for/directory-sites): Two hundred pages titled “best X in Y”, and no page about X. - [For review and affiliate sites](https://silotree.io/for/review-sites): Your round-ups do the linking, but no other post links to them. - [For WooCommerce stores](https://silotree.io/for/woocommerce-stores): Your guides get found. Your products get the grid. - [For local service businesses](https://silotree.io/for/local-businesses): Your cost posts get found. Your service pages get the enquiries. - [For software and SaaS help centres](https://silotree.io/for/software-help-centres): Nine articles explain exporting. None of them links to the others. ## Optional - [About the Silotree crawler](https://silotree.io/bot): the SiloTree/1.0 user agent, and how to limit or block it - [Contact](https://silotree.io/contact): general questions, billing and refunds, plugin help, partnerships and security reports - [Privacy](https://silotree.io/privacy) - [Terms](https://silotree.io/terms) - [Refunds](https://silotree.io/refunds)
